I think LA is ready for football again.

This just in…the city of Los Angeles may soon get a football team.

It’s difficult to believe that the second largest city in America hasn’t had a football franchise in nearly 15 years. Believe it or not, it’s true and rather shameful if you ask me.

Apparently, AEG, a Southern California-based sporting agency, has had talks with a several NFL teams interested in either moving or selling. Irrespective of what team comes to the city of Angels, one thing is for sure: FARMERS INSURANCE has already put their bid in to be the featured sponsor of  LA’s new football stadium.

FARMERS INSURANCE, like STAPLES, CITIZENS BANK, PNC, SPRINT, LINCOLN FINANCIAL and countless companies – whose names have been popping up everywhere on sports arenas in the past decade – hope to gain more traction in their perspective markets through name recognition and advertising.

Apparently, it’s not enough any more to spend millions of dollars on a 30-second ads during the Super Bowl, now companies pay twice that for arena sponsorship. It seems as if the game of sports marketing has become a game of and in itself.
